IT was with interest that I read your article of August 5, 2004, which stated that Jane Hutt had "been working hard to ensure funding" for the Victoria Park (Barry) regeneration scheme.
It further asserted that the proposed new Entrepreneurship Centre on the Barry Waterfront "follows a year of discussions and negotiations I have had" with the Minister and officials.
While Jane Hutt has argued for and supported these projects - and we are grateful for that - it is widely known and appreciated that the Vale of Glamorgan Council is the responsible body.
Disappointingly, to say the least, your article failed to contain a single reference to the Vale of Glamorgan Council which has, in fact, commissioned, specified and lead both the projects from inception until this point in time when all funding is now in place.

Cabinet Member for regeneration, tourism & leisure
